Welcome to Rock Over America Magazine,

Rock Over America News!

A word from Founder and Owner of Rock Over America Magazine, Mark Lewis

Impacts Upon Our Lives

Friday we will run, right here, stories from my past from my friendship with Original Haley's Comets Bass player Marshall Lytle. Marshall was my first interview ever and over the years became one of my closest friends. The friendship came as a result of that interview. It was not something I had expected to happen.

Over the years in the music industry I have met many wonderful people, developed many wonderful friendships and business relationships and have had opportunities come about that never would have otherwise if it had not been for Rock Over America Magazine. That isn't to say there hasn't been any drama or it has been easy. A lot of hard work has gone into it all.

The main thing for me, what always drives me, what will never let me quit are the people I have met along the way. Whether it is our own staff at the magazine, PR companies or labels orvenues we are blessed to work with, or fans or the musicians themselves, the last 7 plus years of my life has been a blessing and every single day I am amazed I am blessed and privileged tobe here. I have never looked at any of this as about me.

It comes down to this one lesson I learned long ago and just revisited on my recent trip to San Francisco, it's way beyond taking time to smell the roses. Be open to all of the new and exciting and even sometimes scary experiences life has in store for you. That is how that interview with Marshall ended up happening. It changed my life forever, in such a profound way that words cannot begin to properly describe the impact over these last 8 years. And I wouldn't change a thing!

Hot News

Today marks the release of Whatever It Takes, the new, hard-hitting album from Canadian heavy-metallers MAGNUS RISING.  Check out a brand new review from ABORT Magazine at this link that states, “This album proves that [MAGNUS RISING is] willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, and definitely proves that they deserve it.” While you’re on the web, check out the official Whatever It Takes album teaser with some great studio and live footage here: http://vimeo.com/50507783.

In other news, MAGNUS RISING can now announce that they will be performing at a festival in Canada this August with headliners 3 Inches of Blood. More details will surface soon about this upcoming event. Also, the band is finishing up on their new music video for the ‘The Drill’ and will be releasing that to the web soon.

Today, the band is hosting an album release party at Rickshaw in Vancouver. Doors are at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm. See the event poster below for details.

Whatever It Takes is about making music on the band’s terms and defying the odds – and odds they have defied! MAGNUS RISING have soared, trekking back and forth across the country, always working to rock bigger crowds in more badass venues. In their western home, they’ve opened for metal powerhouses Iced Earth, Forbidden and Raven – bands who have showed them that time is irrelevant. Their dedication has paid off in droves building a sound all their own. Layered with emotion, feeling and aggression, MAGNUS RISING is reminiscent of a passionate punch in the jaw.
