Free Reign is the Heavy Metal band featuring DALLAS COWBOYS Offensive Linemen, Marc Colombo (vocals), Cory Procter (drums) and Leonard Davis (bass). Rounding out the line up is Davis's high school friend Justin Chapman on Lead Guitar. 

Colombo, Davis, and Procter protect quarterback Tony Romo for a living, and block for every star offensive player on the field every Sunday and the occasional Monday Night. They are the unsung heroes of one of the world’s most recognized sports franchises. The O-line rarely gets the highlights or the spotlight…until now.

It all began in March 2009 when Marc and Cory learned that teammate Leonard Davis played the bass and invited him over for a jam session in Colombo’s garage. Davis thought the make-shift group could benefit from a kick ass guitar player…so he called upon his long-time high school buddy, Justin Chapman. Justin works in the oil industry and has found himself in the unlikely position of being the most talented member of a very buzz-worthy band.

Within 9 months Free Reign transformed from a garage band to a REAL band after signing a record deal with Riot Entertainment, also the home for Fozzy, fronted by WWE Wrestling superstar Chris Jericho. Already the subject of a massive media response    including features on FOX, ESPN, NFL Network and in Sports Illustrated among many others, its now time for the Music Press to embrace this talented and once in a lifetime band. Amazingly, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones now blasts Free Reign's music for 80 thousand fans at every home game.

ILLIDIANCE - Russia's best-known Cyber Metal act that rocks out catchy, original, and technical alternative metal of the millennium - was formed back in 2005. The raw power and the atmosphere of ILLIDIANCE's music is easily comparable to the likes of The Kovenant, Fear Factory, and Sybreed. As of today the band has released two full-length albums, namely "Insane Mytheries To Demise" (2006) and "Nexaeon" (2008), which together sold over 5000 copies. The act also took part in the Brutal Assault festival compilation in 2006 that sold another 6000 copies worldwide.

Throughout the years of its successful stage career ILLIDIANCE wheeled all over European Russia with solo tours, as well as played at concerts and festivals in other CIS and Eastern European countries. ILLIDIANCE has had the privilege of sharing the stage with such well-known international bands as Rotting Christ, Grave Digger, Thy Disease, Shenight, Deathstars, and went on tours with Hate, Grave, Behemoth, and Crionics. In addition to that ILLIDIANCE have already played twice at one of Europe's best known festivals: Brutal Assault v11 (2006) and Brutal Assault v13 (2008).

The press has also totally embraced the music and the status of the act. For instance, according to the 1Rock magazine: «ILLIDIANCE is today one of the most promising modern/cyber metal acts on the Russian stage», their first release "Insane Mytheries..." was reviewed at 9/10 by the Dark City magazine and 5/5 by М-Magazine, while "Nexaeon" received 9 points out of 10 in Whiplashmag, and scored "Album of the Month" at Terroraiser - Belarus.

In 2009 ILLIDIANCE became the 1st runner-up of the Nation-wide «Na Vzlyot» contest competing against more than 1000 rock-bands. In 2007 the band won the Rock nomination at a contest held by Russia's Ministry of Culture in Southern Russia, while in January 2009 they finished as No.2 in a contest held by Metal Radio, with over 500 other Russian bands participating.

Right now ILLIDIANCE is putting finishing touches to their third release and are getting ready to enter the studio. The band is also planning on some special guest appearances for their new record, with potential guests from Japan and the UK, as well as members of Russia's leading alternative acts. Once that is sorted out, the act is set to hit the road in support of their new record in Russia and Europe.

More On The Upcoming RATT Release Infestation

It's no secret that RATT are back and raring to go. The band is proud to announceApril 20, 2010 as the release date for their Loud & Proud debut, "Infestation",an 11-song opus that is their first studio record in 11 years. The first single,“Best of Me", is scheduled to impact rock radio on February 21. The song is available at all digital stores.

There's been a flurry of activity in the RATT camp in the past few years.Vocalist Stephen Pearcy has returned to the fold and the band has since signedto Loud & Proud/Roadrunner. The legendary Los Angeles rock squad, also featuringguitarist Warren DeMartini, drummer Bobby Blotzer, bassist Robbie Crane and newguitarist Carlos Cavazo, engineered Hollywood's much-heralded Sunset Strip soundin the 1980s.

"Infestation" was produced by Elvis Baskette (CHEVELLE, ALTER BRIDGE) at hisVirginia studio, marking the first time the band has recorded outside of LosAngeles. The album is full of attitude and of reflection, cycling through arange of emotions. There are party anthems that RATT are known for alongsidemore contemplative, thoughtful tunes.

Tracii Gun’s L.A. Guns Inks Record Deal

The Tracii Guns-led version of L.A. GUNS has inked a deal with Steve Vai'sFavored Nations label for the release of the band's as-yet-untitled new album.The CD is tentatively due in late April.

Led Zeppelin/Foo Fighters Supergroup

LED ZEPPELIN 's Jones and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Homme teamed with FOO FIGHTERS leader Dave Grohl in the new group, which released itsself-titled debut disc in November after months of rumors about the act.

THEM CROOKED VULTURES will be the musical guests on this weekend's (February 6) edition of NBC's "Saturday Night Live".

The trio plays New York's Roseland Ballroom on Monday (February 8) beforeclosing out its current U.S. run later that week in Atlanta. Their nextscheduled dates are the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert at London's RoyalAlbert Hall on March 22 and the Coachella festival in California on April 16.

WHITESNAKE Update

According to a posting on WHITESNAKE's official MySpace page, the band "willnot be touring in all of 2010 because they are working on several projects. Anyinformation to the contrary is WRONG." Vocalist/leader David Coverdale adds, "Mymain focus, of course, will be writing and recording a new

WHITESNAKE studioalbum for spring 2011."WHITESNAKE was forced to cancel a number of shows on its 2009 summer U.S. tourwith JUDAS PRIEST due to David Coverdale being diagnosed with "severe vocalfold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion.

"WHITESNAKE and JUDAS PRIEST previously toured together in South America during2005 to great critical and commercial success and maintain a great friendship.WHITESNAKE's appearance at U.K.'s Download festival in June 2009 coincided withaction-packed re-releases of the multi-platinum albums "Slip Of The Tongue",marking its 20th anniversary, and "Slide It In", which celebrated its 25thanniversary last year.

WHITESNAKE's latest album, "Good To Be Bad", was released throughSPV/Steamhammer in April 2008. In addition to the regular jewel-case version, alimited-edition two-disc set contains an extra CD in a cardboard sleeve, as wellas a poster, photocard and sticker.

Blaze Bayley Update

Just a reminder that ex-IRON MAIDEN vocalist Blaze Bayley kicks off his PromiseAnd Terror World Tour with an album launch show at JB's in Dudley, UK thisSaturday, February 6th. According to Bayley "New album - new setlist - newt-shirts - new year of live mayhem ahead!"

Tygers of Pan Tang Update

TYGERS OF PAN TANG have announced that they will play the Legends of RockFestival in Spain on August 14th. This will be the first time the band has everplayed in Spain. Visit the fest's official site here.

As previously reported, 2010 marks the 30th anniversary of the Tygers' Wildcatalbum, the band's first and most iconic recording. Robb Weir chose his top fivetracks and re-recorded them utilising modern technology with the current lineup.

Fates Warning Update

Metal Blade Records will be releasing a special edition of Fates Warning's Parallels on March 16th. In addition to remastered audio there will be a second audio disc of live and demo material. The package will also include a DVD with nearly three hours of material, including a complete live show from the 1992 Parallels tour and a documentary on the making of Parallels which includes live, studio, and current day interview footage with all the band members, Terry Brown (producer) and Brian Slagel (CEO Metal Blade Records).

Faith No More Update

FAITH NO MORE will play a special one-off show in the band's hometown of SanFrancisco on April 14 at the Warfield Theatre. Tickets for the gig go on sale onFebruary 7. The concert will serve as a warm-up for the band's appearance thefollowing weekend at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio,California.FAITH NO MORE reunited last year and has played European shows, but has yet toannounce a full North American trek.

Eliza Dushku Update

Social Code Release Video

SOCIAL CODE--Travis Nesbitt (vocals), Logan Jacobs (bass), Morgan Gies (guitars), Ben Shillabeer (drums)—has just released the video for “Satisfied,” the first single from their forthcoming U.S. debut album, ROCK ‘N’ ROLL, which is due out March 23, 2010 on Fifth Season Music (Fontana Distribution).  The clip was directed by Colin Minihan (Papa Roach, Theory of a Deadman).  The album was produced by John Travis (Buckcherry, Kid Rock) with additional production by bassist Logan Jacobs, mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Hinder) and mastered by Vlado Meller (The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

“Satisfied” debuts this week on the Active Rock radio charts at #87 thanks to radio stations jumping on board everyday and additions to such prestigious outlets as Music Choice and AOL Radio.  The song has been receiving early airplay in Canada well before today’s impact date in the U.S., and already reached the Top 15 of the Rock charts thanks to airplay on over 40 stations.   "Satisfied" has been on the Canadian Active Rock Top 30 for 25 weeks, making it currently the longest-running charting song (longer than Green Day, Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters).  In Edmonton alone, on “The Bear,” it’s spun over 600 times.

Hey there all you Total Metal Gearheads!

 Welcome to the first installment of Total Metal Tech, your one and only source for information on all the latest and greatest in gear, personalities, and what's happening in the music world!

In this edition, we're going to give some of the skinny on this year's Winter NAMM show.

For those of you not familiar with NAMM shows, this is a bi-annual event that showcases the latest in musical gear and technology from virtually every manufacturer in the world. From musical instruments, to pro audio and music software, everything that is associated with making music is represented at these conventions. With that being said, let's get right into it, shall we?

The first thing I wanted to talk about was a new product from my good friends at Beamz. This Scottsdale, AZ based company makes an interactive laser product that allows you to be a musician, without being a musician. Their product uses a computer based software program and laser stand set up that allows your hands to control various instruments, up to 6 at one time, as well as their tonal pitches, by interrupting continuous laser beams produced from a unique dual U shaped stand which connects via your USB port to your computer. The software program they provide has a library of general musical styles, rock, metal, jazz, etc., to interact with to make you into a one man band! Check out www.thebeamz.com for more information.

Next on my list, the new Spector Forte and Coda series of basses from Spector Basses. Being a long time road guy, and working with a lot of artists and their gear, I've come to know Spectors as being some of the best basses made in the world. This year, the Forte series opens the door for artists to finally get an NS design U.S. made bass for a reasonable price from Spector. Available in 4 and 5 string models, this bass has all the fine qualities that Spector is known for. The Coda series of basses is first line that Stuart Spector has finally put out with a "Fender" style body and headstock design. Outfitted with a double "J" pickup set up, this bass resembles what Fender would have done if on steroids. I foresee this line really filling the gap between the traditional bass guitar and the more "specialized" bass guitar we see out there on the market today. My last highlight for this edition is a product my great friend Terry Dennis showed me for the Bigsby tremolo. All you guitar players would know about Bigsby tremolos as being that big tremolo bridge usually outfitted on Gibson 335's and Gretch hollow bodies. The Vibramatic line is a product that allows you to convert any "hard tail" guitar to accommodate the Bigsby tremolo without any additional drilling or modifications to the guitar itself. You simply replace the existing bridge with an adapter bracket, supplied with both standard and metric hardware depending on whether you have a U.S. or off-shore made Bigsby tremolo, then mount the actual Bigsby on top of the adapter bracket, and you're done. What makes this really cool for me, and getting back to that "road guy" thing, is you only need a screwdriver to do this install and it takes 15 - 20 minutes to accomplish the job. Now how cool is that?
