The In & Outs Band News
The latest flame to rise out of Montreal's musical blaze, The In & Outs, a high voltage and electrifying rock trio, are proud to announce they will be performing at this year's Canadian Music Week this coming March in Toronto, ON with show details to be announced at a later date.
"We are excited to perform during CMW in Toronto this year! This will be the perfect timing for us to promote our upcoming second album! Who knows, maybe we'll release it there?" comments vocalist / guitarist David Groover.
High voltage, electrifying and relentless is not a reputation that is easily achieved but is definitely one that The In & Outs are willing to do anything to maintain and the band's live shows are a testament to this fact. Igniting stages and captivating audiences across town in their two favorite cities, The In & Outs are on a mission and not to be missed.
In additional news, The In & Outs had the pleasure of playing the massive Festival Interceltique in Lorient, France last summer to a roaring, smashing reception, which was all caught on tape by a new die-hard fan.
The ten-day festival saw 4,500 musicians take to the stage with The In & Outs being one of the fest’s certain highlights, as can be seen in the just released 11-minute fan video that includes the band joining the crowd on the floor and the crowd joining the band on stage.
See the madness for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtcow-A-0Cw
Blending an expert mix of folk-guitar, funky-blues bass and reggae-jazz drums, The In & Outs' vast influence of diverse genres from Johnny Cash to The Doors, passing through Elvis Presley and John Spencer, amongst others can be heard on such tracks 'Boo My God', 'Me, Myself and My Guitar' and 'Often On The Moon' from the bands 2009 debut full length 'Ascending Back And Forth'.
Truly unique, The In & Outs have demonstrated more than a profound love of music. They also reflect the ups and downs of life and the essence of a society which is expressed in its eclectic lyrical content. In their own way, The In & Outs amalgamate a biting and realist poesy that they transmit to their public in a stream of energy.
The band is currently in production of their second album, set to be launched in late fall 2012. Until then, fans can delight themselves with three dynamic songs for pay what you want download from their recent EP, available on http://theinnouts.bandcamp.com.

HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT “PARTNERS” WITH FAMED TELEVSION PRODUCER RICHARD DOMINICK
January 24, 2013 – Detroit based Horizon Entertainment, parent company of independent record company Goomba Music, has announced a partnership with television producer, director and writer Richard Dominick. The new company, Richard Dominick Entertainment Group, connects the worlds of music and reality television production.
The Richard Dominick Entertainment Group has plans to begin filming full production movies this spring with casting taking place later this month at their Chicago and Detroit offices. Info about casting calls are forthcoming.
Horizon Entertainment/Goomba Music’s CEO Greg Wier states, “We are thrilled to form this new company with Richard, joining our talents and utilizing our strengths to bring the world a new and exciting full service entertainment company. By combining his successful track record in television with our accomplishments as an independent record company that has worldwide distribution, the possibilities for new entertainment ventures are endless. We have a lot of plans for new movies, television series and record releases that will be announced in the coming weeks.”
"Working within another production house, sometimes lends itself to creative differences”, says Richard Dominick. “Now when there's creative differences, I will only have to argue with myself - which is a good thing because my other personality is that of a small Filipino woman and I think I can take her...,," "After so many years of working within the boundaries and limitations of other production companies,” continues Dominick, “I now have what all producers dream of--creative freedom. This company is a match made in Heaven, and if by chance we end up arguing amongst ourselves, it'll make a great reality show. I think when I changed ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ from ‘Phil Donahue’ to a show where everyone was welcome to come on the show and air their grievances, it was the beginning of 'reality TV' and ‘Springer’ became the number one show in syndication. Now, ‘Hardcore Pawn’ is truTv's biggest hit. Expect this new company to continue and surpass those successes."
Richard Dominick’s credits include Executive Producer of “The Jerry Springer Show” (1994-2008),“The Steve Wilkos Show” (Creator and Executive Producer, 2007), “The Springer Shuffle” (2007), “When Jerry Springer Ruled the World” (TV movie, 2002). He’s also the creator of the very successful “Hardcore Pawn”(2009-2013) series that airs on truTV and internationally acclaimed movie Ringmaster (1998) Starring Jerry Springer and Jaime Pressly. Richard Dominick is represented by Steve Wohl of the Paradigm Talent Agency, Beverly Hills, CA.
Goomba Music formed in 2011 and is home to rock bands Open Air Stereo, Scum of The Earth, Brand New Sin, Temple of Thieves, and hip-hop artist A N T. They’ve also released albums by Dark New Day, Pro-Pain, Soil, and Puddle of Mudd.

BLUE OCTOBER'S JUSTIN FURSTENFELD ANNOUNCES SOLO TOUR
"An Open Book: An Evening With Justin Furstenfeld" Launches April 4, 2013. Tour Coincides with Publication of "Crazy Making" (Third Edition)
|
|
LOS ANGELES, CA - January 24, 2013 -- Promising to be raw, emotional and interactive, Justin Furstenfeld, vocalist/songwriter/guitarist for the Platinum-selling rock band Blue October, will kick off a 24-date solo/acoustic tour "An Open Book: An Evening With Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October" on April 4 at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA. The shows, all presented in intimate settings, will consist of spoken word, a Q&A session, and an acoustic set of songs never before heard, as well as stripped down and softer versions of Blue October fan-favorites.
"I always look forward to the spoken word/solo shows," said Furstenfeld. "The fact that I'm sitting just a few feet away from the audience, that there are no rules as to what they ask me, or that I don't have boundaries on my answers, is what is exciting to me. I'm hoping that the evening will give everyone a chance to dig deep, connect, and explore the dark corners of why honesty, no matter how brutal, remains one of the most beautiful aspects of being human. Through poetry, music, and conversation, we heal. Why not do it together."
"An Open Book: An Evening With Justin Furstenfeld" will support the release of "Crazy Making," the expanded third edition of Furstenfeld's book of lyrics, hand-written notes and personal photographs. The book, featuring more than 80 new pages, includes all lyrics from Blue October's albums and EPs, from 1998's The Answers through to 2011's Any Man In America, as well as lyrics from a dozen unreleased songs. The new edition also includes some very personal insights into Furstenfeld's creative thought process through the past few albums, not published in previous editions. "Crazy Making" will be available at all of the "Open Book" shows, as well as, for the first time, at Amazon and other online retail outlets on April 1.
Furstenfeld is a captivating live performer, a gifted and complex songwriter who has poured into his songs intimate details of his many personal battles. While he unabashedly wears his heart on his sleeve, his tribulations have provided a unique link to fans who share similar personal challenges. Over the past year, Furstenfeld has worked diligently to change the course of his life, becoming substance-free and healthy. He recently remarried, and he and his wife welcomed daughter Sayde Bell last summer. He has been busy writing new material for Blue October's next album, due out later this year.

“STYX: THE GRAND ILLUSION/PIECES OF EIGHT LIVE” DVD
BROADCAST PREMIERE SET FOR JANUARY 26 ON PALLADIA AND FEBRUARY 1 ON VH1 CLASSIC
January 23, 2013 -- The countdown is truly on to the broadcast premiere of STYX’s Styx: The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Live DVD.
Recently released by Eagle Rock Entertainment, the show will air Saturday, January 26 at 9pm ET/8pm CT on the Palladia HD channel and Friday, February 1 at 9pm ET/PT on VH1 Classic. A countdown clock to the grand premiere can be seen on the band’s official website at http://www.styxworld.com/gipo8/. Fans should check local listings for both programs.
Members of the video production team will be offering insights to the making of the DVD LIVE on Twitter via @STYXtheband during the Palladia broadcast using the hashtag #gipo8.
The landmark concert was recorded November 9, 2010 at the historic Orpheum Theater in Memphis, on the tour that saw STYX--Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Chuck Panozzo, Lawrence Gowan, Ricky Phillips and Todd Sucherman—perform both of their classic albums, THE GRAND ILLUSION and PIECES OF EIGHT, in their entirety for the first time. The 20-song, two-hour and 11-minute presentation features stunning high-definition visuals accenting the complex musical arrangements recorded in DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital 5.1, and LPCM Stereo.
“This is the most magnificent piece of video we’ve done,” proclaims guitarist James “JY” Young. “It’s really exciting for me for it to finally reach the airwaves of Palladia and VH1 Classic. Our two biggest selling albums performed live in their entirety, all captured in state-of-the-art high definition is something we’re extremely proud of. The collective skill set of the people involved in this project rivals NASA in its heyday.”
As singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw continues, “We loved creating a show around these two albums. It was a joyful challenge to match the mojo of the songs we've been playing for years against the edgier newness of the ones that had not been performed since the day they were recorded. And because the songs were sequenced for the album listener, it made for a completely different experience for the fans."

The Grammy-nominated band will hit the road beginning April 25th in Houston and then visit major markets across the continent through mid-May. Joining them as the opening act will be LA-based, alt-rock group Kitten who has already garnered critical acclaim for their “Cut It Out” EP as well as their dynamic live show, and are currently finishing up their full length debut for Elektra Records.
Pre-sale tickets will be available by invitation only to members of Paramore’s Fan Club and Singles Club, beginning January 28th at 5pm EST, with all remaining tickets then offered to the general public on February 1st. Additional dates to be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, the band will gear up for the long awaited arrival of “PARAMORE” with an upcoming series of shows in Southeast Asia and Australia, including a leading role on the latter’s annual Soundwave festival tour. Always a festival favorite, Paramore will also hit the stage at a number of upcoming European extravaganzas, with Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park among those already announced for June and beyond.
Paramore’s first all-new release in more than three years, “PARAMORE” is heralded by the kinetic new single, “Now,” which can currently be heard on the band’s website. A companion video – directed by award-winning filmmaker/dancer Daniel Cloud Campos – is now in post-production with a premiere date slated for mid-February.
“PARAMORE” is also available now for pre-order with a variety of options including a limited bundle featuring a deluxe box set (which includes two colored 12” vinyl, a 7” vinyl featuring two exclusive b-sides, an 18”x24” exclusive poster & more), a hoodie, and a photo book highlighting the band’s time in the studio. All packages include an instant MP3 download of “Now.”
“PARAMORE” marks the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2009’s RIAA gold-certified “brand new eyes.” The album – Paramore’s fourth full-length studio recording – was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Justin Medal-Johnson, known for his work with such diverse artists as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Tegan and Sara, and M83.
Paramore – singer Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist Taylor York – unveiled the album late last year via a personal blog announcement. “The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends,” they wrote. “It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us.”
“Spring Break” Promises to Rock!
[January 28, 2013]
Bring on “Spring Break”! On the heels of their critically acclaimed debut album, “Resurgence of Rock,” BlancaWhite has announced the release of two great new singles and an EP that are dedicated to one thing: “This year Spring Break is going to ROCK!”
The single and title track “Spring Break” is a total beach party, southern fried, boogie boarding, hard drinking, girls-in-bikinis rocker about spring breaks remembered and those yet to come. “Uno Mas!” is a rock anthem to those times when you need just one more: One more drink ... One more score ... One more party! The two singles headline BlancaWhite’s new EP, “Spring Break,” which also includes four great party rock songs originally released on the “Resurgence of Rock” album. The EP is on sale now for $3.99 on iTunes.
“The new EP is the ultimate rocking soundtrack for spring break,” says BlancaWhite’s Ken Savage. “This is vintage BlancaWhite: hard partying, fun-loving rock with no other purpose than to have a good time!”
Following the model used on the “Resurgence of Rock” album, songwriters Savage and Austin Schell enlisted the talents of renowned veteran rock vocalist Jeff Paris (CINDERELLA, VIXEN, SLASH, and KEB MO) and Paul Shortino (QUIET RIOT, ROUGH CUTT and KING KOBRA) to sing lead vocals on the new singles. Paris brings his trademark energy and humor to “Spring Break.” Shortino and his distinctively hard rock pipes absolutely rock it out on “Uno Mas!”
BlancaWhite has also launched Official Lyric Videos for the two new singles on their YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/resurgenceofrock.
BlancaWhite is named after the world-famous bar in Matamoros, Mexico, just across from the Texas border where Savage and Schell grew up. The band’s signature style is 70’s and 80’s “classic” rock, sung by legendary performers from that era, with lyrics and themes for the modern day.
With “Spring Break” and “Uno Mas!,” BlancaWhite delivers two of its greatest songs yet, destined to appeal to the younger crowd heading out for Spring Break 2013. “This is what BlancaWhite is all about,” says Savage. “Making music that resonates today using the style and talent from rock’s greatest era.”
Mixed at Yellow Dog Studios (GREEN DAY, CHARLIE SEXTON, MEAT PUPPETS) in Austin, Texas and mastered by Dave Collins (BLACK SABBATH, QUIET RIOT, LINKIN PARK) in Los Angeles, BlancaWhite’s two new singles and EP were released on January 22, 2013 as digital downloads only on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other digital outlets worldwide. Additionally, BlancaWhite has posted Official Lyrics Videos for the two singles on YouTube.
KING'S CALL RECRUIT NEW LEAD SINGER
(28 January 2013 - Germany) The search is over for German based rockers King's Call, they have recruited Mike Freeland to sing on their forthcoming new album "Lion's Den".
King's Call a melodic rock outfit is the brain child of Greece origin Alex Garoufalidis (guitars, vocals) and is joined by Azerbaijan native Asec Bergemann (drums), Germany's Andreas Kramer (bass) and now to be completed with Mike Freeland hailing from the UK.
King's Call search for a new singer went on from Germany, Scandinavia to the States and even Brazil but found Mike Freeland basically in their backyard. As it turns out while laying down the tracks producer Chris Tsangarides introduced Mike Freeland to the guys and they hit it off straight away.
Mike Freeland is known for his work fronting legends Praying Mantis, also the band More and takes on this new challenge. The new adventure with King's Call will not interfere with Mike's other bands and he is looking forward to work with his new band mates and help them to conquer the melodic rock scene all over the world.
The Euro rockers recorded the new album "Lion's Den" in the Ecology Studios with top producer Chris Tsangarides (Gary Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy) and are in the final stages of mixing their next epic. The new recording will be the follow up album to their 2011 debut album "Destiny" (Mausoleum records). More news about the release date will follow shortly.

The 15th year of Punk Rock Bowling is upon us and man oh man, is this going to be a good one! JUST ADDED.... (drum roll please)
DEVO, yes, that's right! Spudboys are coming to PRB to play all the old hits, “Uncontrollable Urge”, “Mongoloid”, “Gut Feeling”… you name it. De-evolution will never be the same again!
THE WEIRDOS!!! The M*therF**kin WEIRDOS! The Denney Brothers along with Zander Schloss will be busting out "We got the Neutron Bomb", "Solitary Confinement", "Helium Bar".
TURBONEGRO straight outta Norway are finally going to take the PRB stage and play "All My Friends Are Dead" for us! This is going to be awesome! The U.S. BOMBS, featuring skate legend Duane Peters also make their PRB debut, and straight from the streets of New York, we welcome THE CASUALTIES! Also added are 80's street punks from Belgium Funeral Dress and SoCal favorites Channel 3.
The aforementioned bands join previously announced acts, FLAG, featuring original members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson (drums 1981-1985) along with SST labelmate and Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton (guitar) performing the music of Black Flag, and preeminent punk band Bad Religion (who just released their new album ‘True North’ on January 22nd via Epitaph Records), pioneers of British punk rock, The Damned, hardcore innovators D.R.I, Uk’s politically charged Subhumans, 90’s pop punk phenoms Lagwagon, New Jersey’s lovable Bouncing Souls, San Francisco’s finest street punks Swingin Utters, and Texas’s Lower Class Brats.
Punk Rock Bowling was started back in 1999 as a way to bring the independent music community together for an annual party. It has since grown into a 4 day festival in downtown Las Vegas that brings out fans and bands alike from all over the world. Now in our 15th year, more than 8,000 punk rock music lovers flock to Las Vegas to partake in the “biggest punk rock party of the year!”
3 days and 4 nights of outdoor festivals & late night club shows overtake the Downtown Fremont East District with over 70 bands performing throughout the weekend, many special guests, reunions and rare appearances. With 1,000 punk rock bowlers competing for over $15,000 in prize money during the day, over 1,000 downtown hotel rooms, pool parties, comedy shows and a poker tournament, this is a marathon party that never stops in the City Of Sin.
“Being fans of music ourselves, we like to take all the things we dislike about festivals and eliminate them from our event” says festival organizer Stern. “We want this to be a big party and we want everyone to have a great time. We offer good food with vegan and vegetarian options, and our drinks are probably half the price of most festivals. We also limit the capacity so it still sounds great and because our audience are such die hard fans of punk rock, we have little to no problems in the crowd. It’s like one big family enjoying a debauchery filled weekend in Las Vegas like any normal family! Ha!”

About Flag (original members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski and Bill Stevenson, with Stephen Egerton performing the music of Black Flag):
On January 27, 1979, at a Moose Lodge in Redondo Beach, California, Black Flag took the stage for the first time. Whipping up as much meat energy as possible, they didn’t so much play songs as create rapid-fire, rhythmic drives.
Everything was short. Stripped-down. A wall of distortion, built on a relentless series of riffs. And vocalist Keith Morris ran around the stage like an escaped lunatic, eventually wrapping himself in one of the venue’s American flags like it was a straitjacket. It was hardcore punk-rock before anyone ever started calling it that. It was great. You could ask anyone who was there.
Although Black Flag’s line-up -- Morris, bassist Chuck Dukowski, guitarist Greg Ginn, and drummer Robo -- would splinter within a year, the band’s ever-shifting membership released a half-dozen LPs (including the now-classic Damaged, My War, and Slip It In), two live albums, two compilations (Everything Went Black and The First Four Years), and several EPs that incorporated heavy metal, free jazz, and break-beats into the mix before they finally imploded in 1986.
Along the way, Black Flag wrote dozens of enduring songs, ranging from the sarcastic (“TV Party” and the Morris co-write “Wasted”) to the anthemic (“Rise Above” and the Dukowski-authored “My War”) to “Gimme Gimme Gimme” and “Nervous Breakdown.”
Black Flag also headlined sold-out shows at L.A.’s Olympic Auditorium, the Hollywood Palladium, and the Santa Monica Civic, and saw an early live performance immortalized in the ground-breaking 1979 punk-rock documentary, The Decline Of Western Civilization.
Meanwhile, Dukowski served as co-owner and booking agent at the band’s own SST Records label, which became one of America’s most influential independent labels, issuing more than 100 records from such future stars as the Minutemen, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, Hüsker Dü, Bad Brains, and the Meat Puppets, for openers. More importantly, Black Flag and SST’s acts hit the road, building a nationwide touring circuit for indie recording artists that continues to this day.
This D.I.Y. ethos, along with the band’s anti-rock-star attitude and refusal to follow any fashion dictates, would be their greatest legacy.
At least until Morris, Dukowski, drummer Bill Stevenson (who played in Black Flag from 1981 to 1985), and guitarist Stephen Egerton (who’s been a member of the Stevenson-founded Descendents and ALL since 1985) reunited for a surprise performance at L.A. promoter Goldenvoice’s 30th anniversary concert in December 2011.
Inspired by the crowd’s enthusiastic reaction, Morris (whose post-Black Flag career includes fronting the Circle Jerks and, most recently, hardcore revivalists OFF!), Dukowski (who, after exiting Black Flag in 1983, founded SWA, Würm, United Gang Members, October Faction, and, his current outfit, the Chuck Dukowski Sextet), Stevenson, and Egerton decided to extend the legacy, working up a repertoire of 30 classic Black Flag songs with an eye toward future live performances.
Taking their cue from the black flag of anarchy, they’re calling themselves FLAG. Long may they wave.
